Mazal Tov on finishing another book of the Torah together! This week we complete Bamidbar, the fourth book of the Five Books of Moses—a momentous milestone in our yearly journey through the Torah. Happy Rosh Chodesh Av to all, and may we experience a meaningful Nine Days ahead. This Week's Torah PortionsParshas Matos focuses on the power and responsibility of our words, teaching us about vows and their sacred binding nature. The portion also recounts the war against Midian and the request of the tribes of Reuven and Gad to settle on the eastern side of the Jordan River. Parshas Maasei chronicles the 42 journeys of the Jewish people through the desert, from their exodus from Egypt to their arrival at the banks of the Jordan River.
